As some of you know, I was married for ten years. Unfortunately, that didn't work out, as many marriages do not. I never thought my own marriage would end up a statistic, but like a lot of things in life, you never think it can happen to you. In June of 2000, months shy of our tenth anniversary, we began the process of breaking up. By November, I was living on my own, and adjusting to the multitude of changes in my life. As of September 2001, I was a swinging single... ok, maybe not!
One way for me to deal with the overwhelming flood of emotions was to write about them. As early as January 2000, I had been writing songs about the frustrations within my relationship. I spent the rest of 2000 and the first part of 2001, writing songs about the various experiences and emotions I went through in my evolution of becoming a single man again.
I wrote some of the best lyrics of my lifetime, I guess because I really had something to write about!
So, even though this material isn't terribly fun to listen to, I felt it necessary to compile my experiences under one name, The New Alignment, the title of which came from the Lucas film THX-1138 (1970).(Note: May 5/03)
Due to the massive amount of Mp3's I have had up at my site, in order to avoid outrageous extra monthly charges, I have had to remove a bunch of these Mp3's!
So, I have thus taken off the audio from this album project. It's not that big a loss, in that none of these songs have become real recordings yet, but if I ever get around to recording them legitimately, I'll post them at my site.
